About Frontier Minds
Frontier Minds profiles researchers, founders and critics whose work and public arguments shape how AI gets built and governed. Each profile covers what the person has done, what they believe, how those beliefs have changed, and the strongest case against them.
How profiles are made
Sources come first. Every fact traces to a source listed at the bottom of the profile. Primary sources take precedence: the person's own papers, essays, talks, testimony and institutional pages, then reputable press.
Quotes are verbatim. Quotation marks mean the exact words from the cited source, with a date and a link. Paraphrase is never put in quotes.
Critics get their best case. The critics section on each profile states the opposing argument the way its strongest advocates would, and names them.
Profiles are dated and rechecked. Each one shows when it was last verified. Every link is checked automatically, and roles and affiliations are rechecked against dated sources on each update.
Research and first drafts are done with the help of AI tools. Each claim is checked against the cited source before it is published, and anything that cannot be confirmed is cut. The full writing and verification standard is published with the site's source files.
How predictions are tracked
The prediction tracker holds specific forecasts that each person made in public, with a date and a timeframe that can be checked. Each one is quoted in the person's own words and linked to where they said it.
Forecasts are chosen for how widely they were cited, not for how they turned out, and misses are included alongside hits. Each is marked as came true, partly, did not happen, too early to tell (its own window is still open) or contested (the answer depends on a definition people dispute). Every verdict links its evidence, and if the person has since revised or defended the forecast, that is included too.
Portraits
The portraits are AI-generated watercolor interpretations of real reference photographs, with imaginative details inspired by each person's work. Each profile credits its reference source and any applicable photo license.
